14. DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS OF CHUVASH REPUBLIC

At the very beginning of September the experts of the European Commission arrived to the Chuvash Republic with the object of the project realization «Development of rural areas of the Chuvash Republic». On the delegation were Head of expert group - Mr. Heiko Jannermann, the expert on regional development - Mr. Wilhelm Kruze. On their first day the visitors met with the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Chuvash Republic - Ivan Motorin and the Minister of Agriculture of the Chuvash Republic - Michael Ignatyev.

In addition to it, the delegation visited the state unitary enterprise of the Chuvash Republic "Agro-innovations" where the director of the enterprise acquainted them with the organization activity. During the visit special attention was given to such directions as business planning, price monitoring on agricultural products, professional training and cooperation with agricultural manufacturers. The participants of the visit also discussed the spheres of possible cooperation between agricultural producers in Chuvashia and Bavaria. Mr. Heiko Jannermann and Mr. Wilhelm Kruze noticed that the European businessmen would do their best to carry out the project in Chuvashia and voiced a hope on the assistance of "Agro-innovations" in creation and realization of the project initiated by the European commission.

The five-day visiting program of the delegation included meetings in the ministries and departments of the Chuvash Republic, visits to the agricultural enterprises, contacts with the heads of the Morgaushsky, Yadrinsky and Cheboksary areas.
