5. Slovak Republic

The Slovak Republic is one of the trade and economic partners of the Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation.

In 2005-2008 there was held a number of meetings between the representatives of the both republics for the purpose of establishing long-term friendly and partnership relations between the Slovak Republic and the Chuvash republic of the Russian Federation. In the consequence of the forenamed meetings the accords of intensions were reached. These accords were the first step to the project generation and delivery of the mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of agriculture.

During general meetings the priority directions of the bilateral cooperation between the Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic were defined: animal industry/agriculture, crop science, education, and staff training for rural areas.

For example, in 2007 there was organized a visit of Slovak experts of farm animals genetics for stock breeding plotting in the Chuvash commercial farm units. It was also arranged a visit of specialists for giving master classes and workshops of right agricultural management.

In addition to it, twelve students of the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Chuvash State Agricultural Academy” have successfully passed an internship in the Slovak Republic. This fact has set off an overture of improving a regular internship for students of “Chuvash State Agricultural Academy” and agricultural specialists at the livestock enterprises of the Slovak Republic.

It is planned that a visit of the delegation from the Slovak Republic will be held in the first half of 2009 for defining further ways of cooperation between the Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic and for getting acquainted with stock breeding, feed production, the enterprises of farm machinery production and general principals of agricultural management in the Chuvash Republic.
